RHETORIC HEATS UP IN QUEBEC PROVINCIAL ELECTION
Quebec Premier and Liberal Leader Jean Charest and Parti Québécois Leader André Boisclair have pulled out the big knives this election.
Quebecers have of late refused the notion of another referendum, and Charest is busy driving this message home to the electorate by using fear tactics. He has told the population that if they vote PQ they will subject Quebec to unnecessary hardships as transfer payements from the feds will be cutoff.
Undoubtedly scary, but nonetheless a lie.
Mario Dumonts' "Action démocratique du Québec" is coming in close to second place according to the polls. The latest poll shows the ADQ at 24%, with the PQ at 28%, and then Liberals at 36%.
