Sobeski Concerned for City's Slot Revenues

"Sobeski says council needs to start thinking about how they would make up that shortfall."
- in reference to the possibility there could be cuts to how the province distributes revenues from the local slot machines.

The answer to his extraordinarily tough quandry is....

Stop hiring people number one.
Stop spending what you do not have number 2...
Stop granting groups and clubs tax dollars for votes number 3...
Stop assuming that there will be more taxpayers in the future than there are today.

Andrew Coyne: All too plausible to think the Conservatives are involved in the robocall scandal | Full Comment | National Post

Andrew Coyne: All too plausible to think the Conservatives are involved in the robocall scandal | Full Comment | National Post

An extraordinary read.
_______________

"But who? It beggars belief that local campaign workers in 18 different ridings could have separately hit upon the same scam, or carried it out without the knowledge of anyone outside the riding. The notion that the whole thing could be put down to one over-zealous young campaign worker, as some are putting about, is even less credible. Whoever did this would not only have to have the capacity to organize and fund a national robocalling operation. They would also have to have the lists of names and phone numbers to call. Such information would be closely held with respect to the party’s own supporters. But how many people in the party would have access to lists of Liberal supporters? And how did they get them?

It is hard to overstate how serious this is. It doesn’t matter whether the calls had their intended effect. It is sufficient that someone made them. If it were just the circumstances, or just their track record, the Conservatives might be given the benefit of the doubt. But the two together, while they do not prove anyone in the party was involved, make it all too plausible to believe they were. Indeed, it would be more surprising to find they weren’t."

I think the only thing every Canadian wishes to know now is this.....

HEY VIC...
HOW OLD WAS THE BABYSITTER WHEN YOU NAILED HER....HUH?

Otherwise, everything he says is garbage. The man is a liar, he did not study that bill and yes, as Gurney says, either you were surprised or you are extraordinarily ignorant and inept.(and he's right, you should resign for a number of reasons)
The man equated most of us with child molesters and pedophiles...while he was busy fucking the babysitter.( reason number one....he hates the country and the people in it and called us friends of child molesters...)
Canadians really want to know, is it safe to leave their kids near you, afterall, you may think they are fresh babysitter meat or something.
PS.....Sorry for the expletive.

Tory staffer leaves job amid robocall scandal

Tory staffer leaves job amid robocall scandal

Yeah, okay....Mr Sona, all of 23 or so, was so bright and swift that he arranged calls to dozens of ridings all across the country?
Where did he get the cash to finance the "robocalls"? Why would one person take it upon themselves to intervene in the election in so many ridings?
These people must think Canadians are really stupid....extraordinarily stupid.
That's what it is.
They are counting on you ; you simple Canadians, they hope, are stupid enough to just sit it out and stay at home and do nothing because well you know politics are way above the average thinker in this country, and who wants to become embroiled in a bunch of crap that's way over your head?
No, these guys knew what they were doing. They stole their way into the House of Commons and Canadians should be afraid of the manipuation of the electoral system. These guys have made a mess of the sandbox.
Someone, like a cat, shit in the damned thing.

MacKay mum on suggestion he enlisted military's help to counter critics

MacKay mum on suggestion he enlisted military's help to counter critics

The emails show that on Sept. 22, one day after a TV report that MacKay had used a Cormorant helicopter to be taken from a private fishing lodge near Gander, N.L., military officials began searching for instances of opposition members using military aircraft.
___________________________

The officials were particularly interested in a flight Liberal MP Scott Simms took in the same area in January 2011. "Found it," Major Byron Johnson wrote in a message shortly after noon to five other senior military officers, including an officer serving as the Defence Department's liaison with MacKay's office. "Fax is on its way."

"Thanks Byron," replied Major Jay Nelles, before thanking staff for responding on such short notice and describing the request as "a taste of life in Ottawa!!"

MacKay used the information to hit back at Simms in the House of Commons in the following days and weeks, even though the emails show MacKay's office ordered the Jan. 17, 2011 flight to educate Simms about the military's search-and-rescue capabilities.

This is what it looks like when you give a any party a majority, sheer crookedness.
Perhaps the citizens of the country require a real bill of rights that would allow for the prosecution of public servants and elected officials...maybe public crane hangings would work.
It seems as though this government has gotten old and stale in its' first year of its' election mandate and has lost its' ability to govern honestly, or did they not have that abiity in the first place?
Perhaps Peter should step down with Vic. They could start a new party, a party of them.
Not us.
