So Who's Lying?
In a story posted yesterday at 3:12 pm Adam Nyp characterized the hydro bill of $9100.00 dollars for Cowan Park as jaw dropping. In that story a note to Council from the Soccer Club states, the Soccer Club fears there may be a "serious fault with the design of the mechanical components of the facility."
In a story posted today by Adam Nyp, the City Engineer says He believes the current hydro bills at the Cowan Park building aren't out of the ordinary.
Thats strange. The Soccer Club, who should have a pretty good handle on how much they pay for hydro, feels the bills are too high (that means out of the ordinary Harold) and suspect serious mechanical problems.
Who are you going to believe? Only one of the two is telling the truth. Either the bills are out of the ordinary or they are not.
Is the Soccer Club lying to make it appear they are justified in whining to Council for more of our tax money? Or is Harold Dehann lying, because his boss told him too? It has to be one or the other.
Id like to see the Soccer Club post their last twelve months of hydro bills so the public can see who is lying.

You're right....one of them is obviously lying to us.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a representative of the Soccer Club could supply Jim with their hydro payment history so we can all see the big, out-of-the-ordinary jump in hydro costs.
ReplyDeleteIf they're going to use that supposed jump in costs to try to get more money from the taxpayers surely they are prepared to supply the evidence to support their claim?
Is there anyone at the soccer club that would be happy to answer questions?
Who cares who's lying? They're all lying at one time another.
ReplyDeleteJust turn off the fucking money tap.
Heart FM poll shows 82% of respondents feel the tap should be turned off too.
ReplyDeleteSentinel Review poll shows nothing since they don't have one. That's consistent with their news coverage of the Cowan Park business. There is no coverage.
I've got some news for The Sentinel (and Council.) Fewer and fewer people are buying into the idea that if it doesn't appear in the newspaper it isn't news. Every time you duck a story because it might offend some local mover and shaker you just make it more obvious that you are owned and operated by political interests and have no interest in informing the public of local issues.
I'd like to suggest a new slogan for Heart FM.
HEART FM ...doing the job the Sentinel refuses to do.
Agreed....turn off the tap.
ReplyDeleteTurn off the tap and cancel your subscription to the Sentinel. Give Heart FM the money you've been wasting on the newspaper. Pay the people that are working for you not the ones working against you.
ReplyDeleteI'm ok with turning off the tap as well. While we are at it lets start getting the user group of the Art Gallery to fund its operations 100% as well. As far as cancelling your sentinel review subscription I have never paid for it and can't see any good reason the way it is now for anyone else to.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Art Gallery pulling its own weight now that it's being run by Sobeski's new Culture Czar. The Gallery is now officially part of the local bureaucracy and we can expect it to start seriously sucking at our wallets any time now.
