Only in Canada would a government scrap legislation that apparently infringed on the rights of gun owners, to replace it with legislation that infringes on the rights of all ordinary internet using law abiding citizens.
Actually Canada is one of the very few countries where a government could be forced to withdraw a piece of flawed legislation like the surveillance bill because of public and political opposition.
ReplyDeleteIn most countries the legislation would pass and the opposition would be hanging from bridges.
You can bet they'll find a way to introduce it anyways. It's Harpers' plan, it's Harpers' bill. He ain't about to back down anything. He just wants his pound of flesh now from everyone.
