"City CAO David Creery says the new downtown transit terminal will be paid for
entirely without hitting property taxes."
He's not really lying. He's just not telling the truth. He's talking about construction costs
only. He's not talking about annual operating expenses like additional personnel and
hydro and maintenance and all the other little details that will most definitely be paid
by property taxes. That terminal will cost each and every one of us a bundle, and who will it benefit?
What's the difference between not telling the truth and lying? Ask David Creery.
He's happy to answer questions.
Nothings' democratic, Nothing. If they tell you it is, it's just another lie.

Operating expenses are not part of the capital budget.
ReplyDeleteWe can count on Council to examine the operating expenses with the same due diligence and attention to detail as they did with the operating expenses for Cowan Park.
"This council never considered operating costs in their agreement with the soccer club...."

Mr. Bender, your whining and complaining about everything under the sun has worn thin. Dave Creery has so far done a commendable job in replacing the out of touch fossil that occupied the position previously. Is there anything that you like about the city or how it's run? I would say run for a position, but you already got blown out of the water. I'll take your site off my contacts. Go smoke a big joint, and don't worry, the terminal will benefit all kids that don't have a license yet so they can ride the bus to buy a new bong in your classy store.
ReplyDeleteYes...shoot the messenger...Ive been shot many a time.....
Deletean ounce of lead never hurt a man.
Bender didn't write the above post. That's why its called a submission.....
ReplyDeleteDavid Creery? Commendable job? I suppose so if you consider lying to the public and conspiring in back rooms with his sockpuppet(s) on Council to line his pockets and climb the corporate ladder as commendable.
I think you meant reprehensible.
Still no response from Not-So-Anonymous from Feb25 at 5:29PM?
ReplyDeleteIt's hardly surprising he doesn't care to pursue the matter. It's getting a bit too close to home.
tick-tock.
From what the news says, the terminal is more for the drivers than the riders.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that your new terminal wil increase ridership or downtown traffic to my classy store....lol.
Dont forget...your classy wives have been coming to see me for satisfaction for the past 20 years dude:)
That terminal will have a washroom. Given Our CAO's history with washrooms that should account for almost half the cost of the terminal.
ReplyDeleteAs for ridership, it has been decreasing ever since they received the report from the consultants that said we needed to pour our tax dollars into transit because of the increasing demand.
The illustrations of the new terminal are appropriate though. All the buses are empty. :)
