Canada News: Ontario delisting OxyContin and its substitute from drug benefit program - thestar.com

Well that's a start.
It's about time they delisted Oxycontin and prevented people with Ontario drug Benefit cards obtained through welfare and ODSP from obtaining this drug which usually is sold on the streets versus beng consumed by the prescribee.
Hell, most folks in Ontario(me included) wouldn't give a rats ass if you actually cut the entire drug benefit program for welfare recipients.
Frankly, many of us folks don't even have a drug plan ourselves and paying for someone elses' drugs while going without yourself is shitty.
They ought to just cut the entire thing...no more drugs, no more $100 toward glasses, stop cutting those "backpay" cheques for ODSP and perhaps drug and alcohol test those on public benefits.. As well, covering first and last months rent for people is stupid. There should be no more of that. It encourages youth to go on welfare rather than exploring the workforce.

  1. Obviously you are a healthy person. I wish I was too. I wish I could go to work each and every day, but I can't I am disabled and maybee if you could feel my pain you wouold change your attitude. I require oxycontin just to be able to get out of bed every day and as you may be able to guess I can't work to pay for that drug myself. I can't walk to the street to sell my pills and even if I could I wouldn't. It gives me some quality of life that I would otherwise not have. So lighten up and put yourself in somone alses shoes before you make comments like the one you made

Seems to me that if doctors were more responsible prescribing the drug and the authorities got after "double doctoring", there wouldn't be the problem of oxy getting on the street.

I wish you a daily dose of the ass pain you obviously give the rest of us.
Redneck and reactionary - being treated like a low life by a moron is not the prescription needed. If you knew anything, you'll see just what the hell happens when you yank the carpet out from under all these people at once. The legitimate pain sufferers will be without the one medicine that allows any quality of life, and the abusers will all be withdrawing at once - CRIME CITY!..methadone clinics overflowing, and you can wait for the benefits..to you,,which are..???
