Heart FM has posted a story about how our Council has just given Japan relief $33,000. Why on earth would they do that? The crisis is over. They have lots of
rebuilding to do but we're not talking about a third world economy with no infrastructure and an uneducated mass of peasants starving in refugee camps. We're
talking about JAPAN, one of the worlds powerhouse economies. They''ll do just fine. That's $33,000 dollars that could have gone to real relief like saving the
lives of starving refugees in Sudan or, better yet, used to serve the taxpayers of this community as I don't believe Council should be making charitible donations
in my name with my money. I'll do that personally, thank you.
This was another PR stunt designed to get The Mayor's picture in the paper and suck up to Toyota. How pathetic - and how transparent.
