Police knew of mental illness before fatal shooting, family says - thestar.com
I guess for the police it was just easier to shoot him then to help him. It seems to me that recently we have seen a spate of police shootings regarding people with mental health histories. Last week a young man in Brantford was shot to death by police who were called for help by that youths' family members. Instead of helping, they gunned him down.
Why tasers or some other tool were not used in these cases versus using guns is beyond me.
Nothings' democratic, Nothing. If they tell you it is, it's just another lie.

Harper says voters face 'stark choice'
Harper says voters face 'stark choice'
He's right, we do face a stark choice...and it is stark indeed.
We can vote for the guy who just spent us all the way into the toilet....or you can vote for the guy who has never had a chance and has nothing to do with Canadas' now massive structural deficit.
You can vote for the guy that wants to spend billions on jet fighters without a competitive bidding process or you can vote for the guy that believes things should be put out to tender.
You can vote for the most secretive paranoid national leader next to international pariah wacko Kim from North Korea or you can vote for a guy who has no issues with public debates and commentary.
You can vote for the guy that lied point blank to every Canadian when he issued his promise never to stack the senate or you can vote for the guy who will not stack the senate.(just 'cuz its' already stacked to capacity)
You can vote for the guy with the narrow minded view of the world and his own country or you can vote for an international intellectual who has the character and breadth to understand the role of Canada in a global capacity.
Frankly, yes, the choices are stark and for many the choices are pitiful, but for most Canadians they feel sickened by the sheer lack of foresight and the gnarly arguments of the Harper political machine.

Can Carbon Dioxide Be A Good Thing? -- Physicist Explains Benefits Of Carbon Dioxide
ScienceDaily () -- A physicist from Colorado State University and his colleagues from the North American Carbon Program (NACP) have discerned and confirmed the unforeseen advantages of rising carbon dioxide levels. Through the processes of photosynthesis and respiration, scientists have been able to elucidate why plants are growing more rapidly than they are dying. The NACP is employing methods, such as the use of cell phone and aircraft towers to monitor and retrieve carbon data for their continuing study.
