Former Ontario Attorney General Busted For Hit And Run

MICHAEL BRYANT ARRESTED, ONE DEAD
Ontarios' former Attorney General Michael Bryant was arrested last night at 10 PM following a hit and run that saw a cyclist dragged for some distance by a Saab convertible which turned out to be driven by the former Attorney General of Ontario.
The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which took place in the Yorkville region of the city.
Bryant remains in police custody as does his vehicle. There is no word on whether or not charges will be laid or what Bryants' status was at the time. an investigation is taking place at this time.
According to witnesses, the driver of the convertible and the cylcist were involved in some sort of altercation at an intersection a block from where the accident took place. witnesses claim to have seen the car driving along the curb and then onto the curb where the cyclist was struck.
One witness says that the car swerved through an oncoming lane of traffic and then to the curb where the car made contact with the cylist who was "hanging" over his cycle over the curb".
CONTRARY TO JOHN BAIRDS' ASSERTIONS, CANADA IS NOT DOING SO WELLhttp://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/62/27/43514819.pdf
Yesterday during a news conference(Aug 31,2009) John Baird said we are outpacing our G-7 neighbours in the matter of economic recovery. Where John got his information from is unknown but we presume he found it in that block of Liberte tofu in a similar fashion that one finds a fortune in a fortune cookie.
Stats Can says otherwise and published the above graph which comes from the OECD which outlines exactly where Canada stands.
In fact, Canadas' economic output shrunk when compared to the first quarter results of this fiscal year . And that makes John Baird a liar or severely uneducated.(which kinda makes him a great conservative MP doesn't it?)

A Statement From Stephen Harper

HERE'S STEVIE ON THE SENATE

"Despite the fine work of many individual Senators, the Upper House remains a dumping ground for the favoured cronies of the Prime Minister."
—Stephen Harper

I guess that means he just shoved a pile of cronies into the senate...doesn't it?

Canaadian Trucker Busted at US Border

TORONTO TRUCKER NABBED WITH MORE THAN 300 POUNDS OF MARIJUANA
A Canadian trucker bound for the USA has been arrested at the US border after agents xrayed his truck and found more than 300 pounds of marijuana concealed in a load of firewood.
Gurmit Singh 40 from north of Toronto was ordered detained when border officials searched his truck after becoming suspicious of the edgy driver. Singh was sent to a detainment centre where he will be held until he appears in court.
The load of weed was headed for Worcester, Massachucets.

John Baird Serves up Billions...Has No Idea If Any Jobs Were Created

BAIRD CLUELESS AS TO HOW MANY JOBS WERE CREATED WITH HIS INFRASTRUCTURE
SPEND-A-THON
The Conservative government of Stephen Harper is glad to have had the opportunity to spend your tax dollars, but ask those guys how many jobs they've created with this massive expenditure and there's nothing but silence on the room.
John Baird the minister in charge of blowing the dough wherever he can says that he has no idea of whether or not any jobs were created through the massive spendfest but had this to offer; "Ask the Canadian Federation of Municipalities"."They say that every billion we spend equals 11,000 jobs".
I don't think John understood the question, which was, "how many jobs has this spending produced?"
And his answer for that was nothing but an awkward silence which nowadays seems pretty typical of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Latin America Following Mexicos' Lead On Decriminlization of Drugs

ARGENTINA LATEST COUNTRY TO DECRIMINALIZE ALL DRUGS
Several weeks ago Mexico enacted the most liberalized drug laws on the planet when they moved away from prosecution of drug offences in small amounts in order to favour a system that would allow police to take people in for treatment rather than jail.
This week Argentina follows that lead and has announced that they will effectively stop the state prosecution of all drug offences and would permit the usage of all drugs in small amounts. Ecuador and Brazil are expected to follow suit in the coming weeks as South America moves away from the US sponsered war on drugs in order to favour a more stable system that would see people treated for addiction versus jailing them.
The changes came about as part of negotiations between three former presidents from Brazil, Mexico and Columbia that were asked to look into the decades old system in place to see if there was anything they could do to make the war less costly on government and more efficient for people.
Fernando Henrique Cardoso, the former president of Brazil had this to say on the matter;""The tide is clearly turning. The 'war on drugs' strategy has failed. The report of the Latin American Commission on Drugs and Democracy has certainly helped to open up the debate about more humane and efficient policies. But, most of all, the facts are speaking by themselves."
The US government has repeatedly stated that they would cease trade with any country that decriminalizes drugs in any form. I'm wondering how they will deal with the country that supplies most of their slave labour as well as manufacturers many of their goods? If the US doesn't stomp all over these countries then there is a good chance they won't stomp all over us. One must wonder why Canada continues to support this failed war against personal choice.
