News...Straight from hell. These are the days my friend...i'm pretty sure they'll never end.

Do you agree with the Harper-Mackenzie plan to hobble Canadian seniors financially?

Conservative Law Enforcement Officers’ Caucus.

FORMER OFFICERS FORM CONSERVATIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT CAUCUS
And here's another stupid idea from our reigning CONservatives. A group of retired police who have been elected as MP's in the past election have decided that this country really needs a CONservative law enforcement branch so they struck a committee that is comprised of four retired or on leave officers(including Oxfords' MP...who has his hands full already shuffling paper around)that will act as a liason between the Prime Minister and the justice minister. (who must not be speaking with the justice minister,,,,hence the need for some old fogeys to send messages back and forth)
This comittee hopes to "influence" the government in its' law enforcement decisions as they claim "they are in a better position to understand what crime is about" as they worked the front lines in law, and they are the only party that has elected police officers.
Well....
Our local MP was retired for many years before he ran for office. His policing techniques are reminiscent of a kinder more gentler time in policing...(oh I am laughing so hard I think I will pee now)
Four MP's were picked for the committee...
Shelly Glover from Manitoba,Rob Clarke from Saskatchewan and Dave Mackenzie and Rick Norlock from Ontario.
Dave has come a long way from the last election when the Prime Minister called him and his team in Oxford "terds and idiots".

Petition to the Government of Canada

A PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA
As promised, attached is the House Petition along with a few examples of collusion and negligence in Health Canada that have resulted in our health, and that of our families, being endangered. If people are not aware of or interested in one area such as EMR, there, hopefully, will be some topic with which they are concerned.

A group of us across Canada will be passing these out to everyone we know who is interested in changing things for the better, whether it is regarding EMR, food safety, drug regulation, genetically modified food, CFL lightbulbs, or any number of issues. We hope to get as many signatures as possible -- 1000s-- and having one or more members of Parliament present our petition to Parliament during the fall session and demand change in the way Health Canada operates and the people who are operating it.

The rules for a House petition are simple:
1. Any resident of Canada can sign, regardless of age or citizenship.
2. There must be an actual signature -- no internet petition.
3. Provide an address, but a city, province and postal code is sufficient.
4. The front of each page must have the petition statement, but the backside does not. I have provided a front and a back with lines, for ease of duplicating.
5. Please circulate this to all of your family, friends, acquaintances, colleagues and ask them to circulate it. Please ask the person to whom you circulate it to return all copies to you, as I am asking you to return all copies to me. I will then get it to the MPs for presentation.
6. Please have these returned to me by September 10, 2010.

This is a national effort, so please don't forget people in other provinces: let them get involved, too.

We can make a difference, and this is a first step. Please take it with me.

Thank you,

Sharon

PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA

We, the undersigned residents of Canada, draw the attention of the Government of Canada to the failure of Health Canada to protect the health and well-being of the citizens of Canada, which is its mandate. Health Canada has aligned itself with the very industries that it is charged with regulating. (See Ottawa Citizen, Globe and Mail, Fifth Estate (CBC), Marketplace (CBC))

Therefore, we the petitioners, respectfully request that the Government of Canada require:

1. that all research establishing the safety and efficacy of products and regimens, including those related to the drug industry, the asbestos industry, and the telecommunications industry ( eg. EMR [electromagnetic radiation], transmitters, WiFi and cellphones) be based on credible, peer-reviewed, scientific studies that are independent in that they are not, directly or indirectly, sponsored, funded or published by industry.

2. that all policy and practise be established and carried out by competent personnel who have no association with and receive no advantage, whether direct or indirect, from industry.
