CITY OF WOODSTOCK ALLOWS DEVELOPER TO CHOP DOWN TREES INDISCRIMINATELY

I am trying to discover whether or not it is legal to cut trees from a waterways banks?

I was told by someone that the developer was ordered to stay 6 ft away from the stream, but obviously that has not happened. Here are trees(well, the remaining stumps) that were removed from the banks of Sally Creek.

This photo was taken March 1, 2008...I guess big money means you get to push in creeks and cut down the forests in the area.

Thanks to Mayor Michael Harding for allowing this devastation to take place. I guess this is what he calls progress.

Now Now. Let's not give Harding all the credit. He couldn't have done it without the invaluable assistance of Sobeski, and Talbot, and Gerrie, and Lauder and all those unsung heroes in the back rooms who made this travesty possible.

I think the province controls that sort of thing. check with your department of natural resources or whatever you have along those lines.

It is illegal to cut into a river like that picture shows.
